Fast Start
Step 1 - Request RSO web space:
Request web space for your organization -OR- Existing sites Ex: mysite.rso.wisc.edu can have the main org contact as listed in the SOO/RSO directory email us to reset the password. We will then send the info to publish to the main org contact and then it's up to them to decide who in the org should have it.
Step 2 - Creating your web page(s):
A web site/HTML documents are generally created using software tools, such as Dreamweaver,Fireworks, Photoshop etc..One could also use a text editor such as notepad and hand code the HTML.
Dreamweaver is a very popular web design product and there are several computer labs with Dreamweaver available on campus. You can also purchase Dreamweaver and other software to aid in the web page design for a discounted rate via the DoIT Tech Store .
Software Training for Students provides free classes in Dreamweaver and many other web development technologies. -- Ask the members of your organization if any of them has experience in making web pages and appoint a web site designer.
Step 3 - Uploading your files to the internet:
Once you have developed your web site you will need to publish your site files to the web server via SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol)

NOTE: SecureFX is a free SFTP client which you can download here from the DoIT Shelf.
